Sustainability –
Thinking in generations.

For us as a family business, sustainability is not just an empty phrase, but a core value of our corporate culture. After all, we want to be able to hand over a successful company in an intact environment to our 5th generation.

We are convinced that sustainable action can only succeed if we take equal account of ecological, social and economic aspects. One important step on this path is the continuous modernisation of our vehicle fleet. With the targeted expansion of our fleet of electric lorries, we are sending out a clear signal in favour of climate-friendly mobility.

Environmentally friendly vehicle fleet

All of our lorries meet the EURO 6 standard, which is the strictest emissions standard. With the targeted development and expansion of our e-truck fleet, we are setting another example for climate-friendly mobility. In 2024 and 2025, we were able to integrate a total of four VOLVO FH Aero Electric tractor units into our vehicle fleet. We are currently evaluating the optimal use of these vehicles in the transport and logistics process.

Photovoltaics – Electricity from your own roof

We produce electricity at a total of three locations with our own solar installations. Of these, we own around 5,400 m² ourselves, while we have leased a roof area of 15,000 m² to an external operator at the Schwarzenbach site.

The Holenstein Group’s total electricity consumption in 2024 was 1,400,000 kWh. With our own photovoltaic systems, we can theoretically cover 60% of our electricity consumption with renewable, self-generated energy.
